Preparing a home for short stays starts with making the guest experience predictable. Clear photographs, an accurate description and a simple arrival process matter more than promises that are hard to keep. Use this checklist before you list your property.

Take current photographs of every bedroom, the bathroom, kitchen, entrance and any outdoor space included in the booking. Use daylight and tidy the space without hiding wear or damage. Say clearly which facilities are shared. Destination pictures can introduce Jinja, but keep them separate from photographs of the accommodation.
Explain the check-in window, parking and how keys are handed over. Share the exact directions with confirmed guests through their booking, and change temporary access codes between stays.
Keep a dated maintenance log. If a facility is unavailable, update the listing before accepting a booking that depends on it, and describe backup power or water precisely rather than saying "always available".
Record each booking, payment, cleaning visit and repair, and compare the time and cost with the income. Before operating, confirm which registration, tax, insurance and local requirements apply with the relevant authorities or an adviser; this article does not decide those obligations. Ready to list?
